Florence has been known as an art stronghold since the Renaissance period, and objects of art overflow throughout the entire city. Both the art museums and the architectural structures are world-scale, and there is an intense concentration of Renaissance period masterpieces here. Numerous enjoyable and satisfying extracurricular activities are provided, including visits to the art objects, art museums and ateliers of Florence for appreciation through deeply interesting explanations by art instructors; taking of practical lessons in art; art seminars for creating your own art objects; small excursions for visiting the Chianti wine cellars where the representative wine of Italy is produced; and trips to Venice.

* Visits with explanations to the Galleria degli Uffizi that is the world’s largest treasure house of Renaissance art. Viewing such famous masterpieces as the “Birth of Venus” by Botticelli, a master artist born in Florence.

* Visiting the Gallerie dell’ Accademia to view the sculpture of David, a major Renaissance art work that took Michelangelo a full 3 years to complete.

* The Ponte Santa Trinita, one of the most beautiful bridges in the world, that was rebuilt in accordance with Michelangelo’s 1252 plans. Let’s go observe its perfect beauty.

Cut out your favorite images from those drawn on a flat decoupage surface, paste on various different materials, and finish your work with a coat of varnish. Challenge the handicraft techniques that originated in Italy during the 17th and 18th centuries. Anybody can create a romantic and charming work.

* Visit to Palazzo Pitti and sketching in Giardini Boboli – This grand building was constructed in the middle of the 15th century as an amalgamation of the highest technology of Italy. Its façade has a sense of grandeur, and the gorgeous interior decorations make it perfect material for studying Italian art. Also the beautiful 45,000 m2 garden will most certainly make you feel that you can sketch it from any point or angle.
